This month’s meeting was an on-air meeting on the club’s 146.910 two-meter repeater, as our normal meeting site host was going to be on vacation. We had a few brief announcements

then did an on-air exercise. The exercise consisted of simulating severe thunderstorms moving into our area. We had participants give
spotter reports. Then opened 3 storm shelters due to damage and flooding and assigned 3
participants to assist at them. Shelter #1 Richland Center (Community Center), Shelter #2 Viola
(Community Building), Shelter #3 Viroqua (City Hall).
We continued to take weather reports and did status checks at the 3 shelters. The exercise
could have gone on longer but we keep it small to fit our usual meeting time frame.

At the conclusion of the exercise, we had a brief discussion on what you should have in a go kit, whether it’s for storm spotting and or for shelter operations. We will discuss the exercise in more
detail at the club’s next in person meeting.
