We’ve been working behind the scenes to improve the audio quality on the W9PVR AllStarLink/EchoLink node. Thanks to feedback from our operators and some helpful testing, we’ve made a few adjustments on the node side to clean up the audio and provide a clearer experience for everyone connecting.

But remember—audio quality is a two-way street! While we’ve improved things on our end, we also recommend checking the settings on the app or device you’re using to connect. Chris (KC9CMD) kindly shared a few screenshots of his EchoLink app settings as a reference below. You’ll want to make sure you’re not overdriving your mic for the best quality audio.

If you’re using EchoLink on a mobile device or computer, double-check your mic input level and any software gain or processing features. A little fine-tuning can go a long way in making sure you’re coming through loud and clear!

If you’d like to test your audio, just put your call out on the repeater—there’s usually someone listening who can give you a quick report.

Thanks for helping keep the node sounding sharp and enjoyable for all!
