The Flood of June 2008

On Sunday, June 8, it began to rain … and it rained … and it rained until at last it stopped with northern Iowa and central and southwest Wisconsin completely flooded.

The communities of Viola, LaFarge, Avoca, Lone Rock, and Spring Green experienced floods the likes of which they had never seen before.

In Sauk County, flood waters washed a new channel between Lake Delton and the Wisconsin River resulting in the lake being completely drained.
